42 folds to the moon
2024, paper, watercolour, acrylic markers 250 x 150 cm, Mornington Peninsula Regional Gallery Collection.

A constellation of geometric forms that trace back to childhood. Some are based on unusual structures that appear rigid yet can continuously transform their shape while preserving their underlying geometry. The work forms part of a tribute to her father, a mathematician. Its title refers to the thought experiment that a sheet of paper folded 42 times would reach the Moon—an example of exponential growth, where small changes accumulate beyond intuition.
