Comissioned by the Fremantle Biennale for Signals 2023, songs to the universe exhibits a suite of wave interference phenomena, from travelling waves of different frequencies that go in and out of resonance to magical standing waves that appear to oscillate in place in a state of perfect equilibrium with no energy transfer, with increasing and decreasing numbers of harmonics as the frequencies gradually change.
Illuminated with ultraviolet radiation invisible to human eye, the moving patterns glow in their entirety or isolated fragments.
