Bori Benkő is a Hungarian-born artist based in Fremantle, Western Australia.
Working across photography, painting, textiles and kinetic structures, she develops projects through making, testing and repeated revision. She is interested in what happens when simple systems begin producing unexpected behaviour.
Images shift, fragment, unfold and reconnect. One thing becomes another without ever completely leaving its original state.
Bori holds a Master's Degree from the Hungarian Academy of Fine Arts in Budapest and has exhibited in Europe, Asia and Australia. Before moving to Fremantle in 2020, she travelled extensively through artist residencies, scholarships and independent research, working across photography, film, printmaking, textiles and traditional craft practices.
